  1. Heeke should have been fired for the Kevin Sumlin debacle

Heeke should have been fired for being cucked by Robbins when it came to Sean Miller

Heeke should have been fired for being cucked again by Robbins when it came to the hiring of Fisch

Heeke should have been fired if he were the one stalling the Fisch extension (I actually doubt that was on him) leading to everything that went down over the last 7-10 days.

With as much as Robbins seemingly enjoyed walking over Heeke there is no way Robbins wasn't knee deep in whatever problems that were going on in the Athletic Department.  Gotta love scapegoats.

2 big P12 games Saturday. UCLA/Ohio State and AZ/Purdue. Both neutral sites.

    @MrBug708 and @clpp01, any thoughts?

If we manage to beat Purdue in Indy then we are well on our way to claiming the Big Ten championship this year.

    Michigan St ✔️

    Wisconsin ✔️

    Purdue

    USC x2

    UCLA x2

    Oregon x2

    Washington

If Michigan loses or plays like cheeks, it is possible.  It would suck to be #2 to Michigan's #1 and have them select the Rose Bowl.

My parents are big Washington fans, I was this close to buying Rose Bowl tickets last night for them thinking there's no way Georgia loses tomorrow, better start looking into New Orleans now I guess.

But it’s a great year for Deion! Imagine if he wins two conference games next year, the good people of Colorado might elect him governor.

8 to # 3 is a huge jump.  I also think Ohio State is out no matter what happens.

    From 8 to 3

    7 Ohio St - didn't play

    6. Texas - They will argue clear separation between Bama/Texas to get around the H2H loss.

    5. Oregon or Washington - Lost

    4. Georgia - Lost

    3. Florida St - Even as an undefeated team they will be viewed as the weakest of the 4 teams

For Ohio St they are still in play, what they need is for Alabama, Texas & Florida St to all lose. Oregon losing to Washington would make it cleaner but wouldn't be necessary.  If those 3 lose you have Texas & Alabama picking up a 2nd loss knocking them out of the picture which leaves you with.

    1. 13-0 Georgia

    2. 13-0 Michigan

    3. 13-0 Washington/12-1 Oregon

    4a 11-1 Ohio St

    4b 12-1 Florida St w/o starting QB

    4c. 12-1 Washington

On the Bama thing. Them sitting at 8th, if they beat UGA, that would be the most impressive win but hopefully not enough to move them in the top 4.  But we both know SEC bias is alive and well.

Would they move # 1 UGA out of the top 4 with a close loss to Bama?

Surpised Bama is only 8th with 1 loss.

Alabama does have the worst loss of the 8 contenders and has looked underwhelming in half of their FBS games so 8th feels about right for them currently but they'll get a massive boost if they beat Georgia, I suspect that would push Bama all the way up to #3 come Sunday.

As for Georgia I have a hard time seeing the committee picking 2 teams from the same conference when you have other legitimate options.  In most years the upsets would have driven out half of the current contender list but the absence of those upsets has kind of created a fire wall against double dipping.  A Georgia loss would imo eliminate Ohio St from being able to back door their way in and their path to the playoff would become Georgia's path.

They put Ohio State at 6.  FSU is too high.  They just aren’t playing top grade ball right now without their QB. I think they lose to UL this week.

Oregon deserves #4. The committee is sticking with undefeated teams in the top 4.  Nobody will convince me FSU is a better team than Oregon right now.

But if Oregon beats Washington I think they are in. If Texas beats OSU, The Cowboys aren’t ranked high enough to move Texas into the top 4.

FSU will sort itself either they beat Louisville and will make the playoff as I can't see the committee bypassing an undefeated P5 conference champion or they lose and will be out of the running completely.

I think the interesting thing is that they placed Ohio St in between Oregon & Texas/Alabama, all previous weeks they were always grouped together but now we have evidence the committee is saying there is separation between Oregon and the other 2.  I always thought that if we ended up with all 3 of them sitting there on selection Sunday at 12-1 that the brands of Texas & Bama would win out and that Oregon would be left to look on from the outside.

Line for the title game is Oregon -9.5.

I’ll take the Ducks by 7.

It will be interesting to see where Ohio State lands in the CFP. I also think Oregon should jump Florida State. FSU is a paper tiger without their star QB.  Struggled with a bad Florida team also missing their starting QB.

IMO I see them putting tOSU at 5, gives them room to backdoor tOSU into the playoff if the games next week break right for them (UGA, Wash win & FSU loses).

Word is at least 4 P4 programs on the schedule plus WSU.

If they are looking for 4 P4 games for next year my guess is that they have been or will be trying to get involved in some of those B12 Non conference games.  Arizona/KState, & Baylor/Utah are still technically scheduled as OOC for next year and both Utah & BYU are needing a new partner to replace their originally scheduled non-con matchup after it became a conference game.

If Arizona and Oregon St win out Arizona goes to the championship game.

Arizona, Oregon, and Oregon St would finish in a tie at 7-2. Among common opponents Arizona and Oregon St would be 5-1 with Oregon at 4-2. Arizona would then win the H2H with Oregon St.

Arizona, Oregon & Oregon St would only have 5 common opponents (Colorado, Stanford, Utah, Washington & Washington St) and each would have ended up going 4-1 against those 5.  The next tie breaker would be record against the highest ranked common opponent which in this case would be Washington.  Oregon St  would have beaten UW while both Arizona & Oregon lost to them.

If OSU wins out, they wouldn't need Oregon to lose to ASU. Because OSU would have the head to head over Oregon.

H2H tie breakers wouldn't apply to any tie involving both Arizona & Oregon since they didn't face each other.

A Breakdown of potential 2 loss ties breakers.

Arizona, Oregon, Oregon St & Washington: Arizona & Oregon

Oregon, Oregon St & Washington: Oregon St (1) & Washington (2)

Arizona, Oregon, Oregon St: Oregon St (2)

Arizona, Oregon & Washington: Arizona & Oregon

Arizona, Oregon St & Washington: Arizona (1) & Oregon St (2)

  12. When they eventually announce Utah/Colorado as the ESPN game it will make I believe 10 of our 12 games this year on either the Pac-12 or SEC Networks.  Of all the things that suck about the conference imploding this is one of the few where I can't wait to be rid of it.

  13. Oregon St would be in a  really good spot if they win out.  If Oregon St wins out the only way they wouldn't make the championship game is if Arizona won out and Oregon also lost to Arizona St.

correction: Oregon St would also need Washington to beat Washington St.

Does the Rose Bowl have to take the winner of the P12 championship game?

Last year was the final year of the direct Pac-12/B1G connection.  Going forward the Rose in some capacity will be apart of the expanded playoff.

Not much has been revealed about it but my opinion is that it will essentially become the B1G's quarter final "home" site.

I wonder what Duke’s home record is the last 10 years or so?  I can’t imagine them having too many losses.

Including the 2 games they have played so far this season over the past 10 seasons they are 149-19 at home which includes the outlier covid season were they lost 5 games.  Going back to the 99-00 season they are 369-35

  16. I had always thought the LA Bowl was going to be a bigger deal when they first announced it, replace the Holiday Bowl (or outright acquire the naming rights) and becoming the conferences premier Bowl beneath the Rose but they seem content to be the Kmart of bowl games.

The B1G would certainly thumb their nose at anything that might associate them with the MWC and the ACC & B12 might not be too far behind them.

I think Oregon State & Wazzu should get to play in two bowls each & one more against each other

They deserve not to have their 100+ year conference disintegrate around them but unfortunately college sports like most things in life are now controlled by venture capitalists and their puppets on wall street.

Have they announced any of the non-NY6 bowl tie-ins for next season?   Seems like they have to just wipe the slate clean.

Most of them will still be under contract through the 2025 season with the possible exception of the 5 Pac-12 tied bowl games.  If the Pac-12 remains as a 2 team league for next year then most if not all the current Pac-12 bowls would seek new co-anchors.
