  1. I would be good with a Western college sports forums, perhaps with sub boards for MWC, Big 12, B1G, ACC and Pac 2. Would be nice to have more users, has pretty much felt like a morgue since the Pac fell apart. Will likely be some chaos to start, but seems like an opportunity.

If you’re the committee, are you going to award the MWC with high seeds when they are nothing but a 1 and done conference?  Other than SDSU, Nevada is really the only other MWC team to advance and that was 6 years ago.

Boise, 11 appearances, never advanced. UNM, last time they advanced was 2012.
USU, 24 appearances, last time they advanced was 1970.  CSU last advanced in 2012.

You can always make the argument that power schools get over seeded and do nothing but since when has the struggle between the rich and poor ever been fair?

Gonzaga earned their street cred with strong OOC games and advancing. Same with SDSU.  “Mid Majors” have always had to prove more.

The problem is that is a self fulfilling argument, MWC doesn't advance so give their teams shitty seeds and they don't advance. They need to base seedings on each year individually, not based on school or conference history, and when they set up the metrics that they are going to use, such as NET rating, pomeroy etc. and smaller teams perform to those metrics, it seems unfair to give them the "eyeball" test argument and give them a crap seed anyway.

2/6 are play in games…little surprised by the seeding for the MWC.  Little hosed for this season.

USU, Boise and New Mexico got screwed in the seedings, while SDSU got rewarded for last years run. A lot of the seedings and selections are based on reputation rather than what teams actually did this year, regardless of what the selection committee says.

Pac-12 Tournament championship odds for every team:
    • Arizona: -175.
    • Colorado: +500.
    • Washington State: +600.
    • Oregon: +1200.
    • Utah: +1400.
    • USC: +2000.
    • Washington: +4000.
    • UCLA: +4000.

If I were in Vegas I would probably put a bet in on USC - not that I think they are favorites, but better than a 20-1 shot.

    Nah, he's just a twat.

Can't imagine reading that word salad once, let alone twice.

  6. It's nice that the Utes rolled, but UCLA doesn't lose like this if team plays hard. Don't know or really care what their issues are, but seems a change needs to be made, either a wholesale change of roster or staff.

  7. I haven't watched Maye play, but would go Williams, Penix, Nix then Daniels, in that order.

I think Penix has the strongest arm and maybe the best arm talent. He can make all the throws from the pocket, but is not as mobile or creative as Williams when under pressure. Williams ability to create when pressured, both by taking off running as well as scrambling around and extending plays while continuing to look downfield and make big plays after plays break down is the best I have seen, and what sets him apart. Nix is a solid, tough quarterback that makes really good decisions, but I do not think his arm talent is quite up to the others on this list. I think he will be a solid starter or backup in the NFL, but does not have the upside of the others.

    @Chile_Ute,

Not sure if you heard but we might see one of our stranded horses play the next two games.  Deivon Smith is a baller, quick and a good defender.  Would be a good relief for Worster and pump some quickness into our offense.

A waiver for multi transfers was denied earlier but a judge issued a temp restraining order giving a 14 day window. Smith is ready to play. But both Craig Smith and Harlan said they will triple check the details to avoid any further disasters on eligibility restrictions before they play him. But maybe we get 2 games?

Here's the context: BREAKING: In Ohio vs NCAA, Judge John Preston Bailey issues a temporary restraining order (for the next 14 days) that grants immediate eligibility to any college athletes currently seeking it via a multi-transfer waiver. Next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 27, 2023.

NCAA said today players could lose a year of eligibility if the TRO is overturned. Don't think they will take the chance for 2 preseason games.

    How Do I Get One?
According to the NCAA rules, in order to be granted a medical redshirt, the athlete must:

    • Suffer an injury that is deemed “season-ending”
    • Their injury must occur before the halfway point of the season
    • Not participate in more than 30% of the season’s games

    https://www.2adays.com/blog/how-does-the-ncaa-medical-redshirt-work/

The question is if it is season ending if he plays in bowl game. I believe Whitt said the bowl would not effect his medical redshirt status, but I don't know of any other sources for that.

@Mano and @Chile_Ute, I think there is a good chance we see some Brandon Rose in the bowl game. Based on Kyle's comments the other day. He wants to see some of the young guys. Barnes will definitely start but I'd love to see Rose get some PT.  He's shaken off the injury rust and fully incorporated into the bowl gameplan.

He tore up spring ball and was the clear #2 going into Fall Camp.

Nothing against Barnes, I respect that he is playing in the bowl game even though he is in the portal, but I would rather have them play Rose. Barnes is gone next year, would be nice to have a backup that has some real game reps in the program next year.

That's not a quote from me.  The statements you present do not represent how I speak.

I would never refer to myself by saying "I've been nothing but an amazing person ...."

I would never say "People are just mean to me and don't appreciate me" - that's not my manner of speaking ....

".... get me so sad that I tag those posters every chance I get because I hate this behavior."  Not my words.  Nothing here makes md sad, nor would I make such as statement.

"I've started my own threads just to get attention from the posters I accuse" .... Never made such a statement.

"When I don't get that attention, I will go into the main P12 board threads to try and get more attention."  Never made such as statement.

"As soon as you, @utenation and @Orange grow up and stop the name calling, you will realize I'm always right. If @Chile_Ute wants to start acting like a child with insults, I will attack him too." .... Never made such a statement.

    Total fabrication by @utenation.

Last I checked UW is ranked #2 in the country. I guess that's trending down? UW was supposed to be taught a lesson last year by Texas. Didn't happen. But keep saying the ignorant same thing over and over, eventually it might happen.

The analysis we have come to expect from that twat.
