Indeed, but in the Clinton trial, Rehnquist determined senators are not jurors, but the court itself.  Hence, there is a belief that they make the call.

Which begs the question; wtf is the CJ's role?

Does anyone else the whole Bolton thing might be a setup?

Dems spend all their political chips getting this one witness & then he testifies that Trump did nothing wrong in his opinion.

GOP can say it was a fair trial because they allowed witnesses.

I'm thinking Bolton could really backfire on the Dems and in the very end, the votes against having witnesses would come to pass.  The question will be will there be Dem votes for not having witnesses?

This whole impeachment thing would have been one big waste of time.  Just wait until the total cost of the whole thing is made public and the Dems might not be able to call themselves the more fiscally responsible party.

Like CRBuff says...one big clown show.

Jalapeño, the clown show is more directed at trump.  Why in God’s name would he hire Bolton to start?

And then once he leaves, like everyone else, trump trashed the very person he hired.  What a mess.

That is Trump's way of running the show.

Ever thought that sometimes being an effective leader also means not being well liked?

Not being liked is one thing.

He hired someone that fundamentally disagrees with his outlook on policy.  Then he is gone, shockingly, when they have a major disagreement.  Sorry, his cabinet has changed at a dizzying pace.  It always ends with a twitter tirade talking about what a loser the former cabinet member is.

This is leadership?

Doesn't sound like a stable genius to me.

In times like these, I think simplifying the problem could be helpful. So: do you think Trump is guilty for something he admitted doing on live television?

First, Bolton calls Trump's phone call with Zelensky as "warm and cordial", and made no mention of Trump withholding aid until an investigation of Biden and his son takes place.  Now he's writing a book and wants to make sales, so he reverses his original statement.

And Schiff spoke of how horrible Bolton is, and stated that he lacked credibility and has credibility issues.  NOW, he wants Bolton to testify as a reliable and credible witness.
