A public school gets an influx of white patents, and they bring a non-PTA fundraising model to the school that’s rife with elitism that doesn’t benefit the (majority) minority population at the school. (In this case, an influx of white parents wanted a French program for a public middle school....the school, of course, needed lots of stuff; supplies, uniforms, equipment etc. but the donors insisted it all go to the French program, which also happened to be majority white.) Mostly, tho, it’s about white obliviousness, which might be a more accurate and less offensive term to white people than “privilege”. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
