Orange
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/16/science/ligo-neutron-stars-collision.html It's hard to overstate how amazing it is that we bore witness to two neutron stars colliding. It happened 130 million years ago, and NASA sensors (along with others across the globe) just detected it. It's the process by which most precious metals are created. Mano
I am really excited about the James Webb Telescope being launched. Hopefully the current administration doesn't do something idiotic like canceling the project.

Even if Trump axed it, the Europeans are the one launching it themselves: https://jwst.nasa.gov/launch.html

Orange
My teachers would try to pronounce it "UR-anus" to avoid giggles. How does that make it better?
Quack 12
How is the Starship Enterprise like a roll of toilet paper? It flies around Uranus trying to wipe out the Klingons. What's in Kirk's bathroom? The Captain's Log. Ahh, 4th grade.

Quack 12
The Spacex Falcon Heavy, the most powerful rocket in the world, is scheduled to make its maiden flight next month. Apparently the rumors are true. The dummy payload for the test flight will be Elon Musk's personal first generation Tesla Roadster, which will be launched on a trajectory to Mars orbit. ExplorerSunDevil
Did anyone else in Arizona/Southern California witness the Elon Musk rocket launch last night? I actually saw this live as I was leaving work and heading into town. I have to admit that I was quite startled when I first saw it.
