Scscsc89
That's my point -- you are looking at this upside-down. The reason that Trump needs an electoral college victory and has such high unavailability numbers is that his base is way outside the mainstream. Their media outlets just work to convince their readers that it's not.
KUGRDON
I don’t know what his base is or why it is relevant. He got 46.1% of the vote, currently has 47% approval rating among registered voters. How can he or his supporters be considered way outside the mainstream. If you are correct, what of Hillary’s base when she got @48% of the vote? He needs an EC victory because he will likely not receive the most votes.
PAC MAN
@Scscsc89 You said electoral college victory...weren't you trying to say popular vote victory? It'd be nice to have a resounding electoral vote win one way or the other for a change. Last time I believe that happened was the 1980's with Reagan. Scscsc89
No — I mean he needed an electoral college victory to win in 2016. I’m not saying that that didn’t make it a legitimate victory, the point is that he’s not popular with a majority of Americans or voters (see bell curve).
