    Thank goodness!

Push for a big buyout.....get Jumpman.

    Buy several trophy cabinets.

    Sit back and enjoy.

Both Cal and UCLA are no longer listed on the UA website.  I don’t think a big buyout is going to happen.  Cal and UCLA will likely have to work with UA, whose finances are abysmal.  I predict both will get small buyouts and sign with other apparel companies rather than fight this in court for years or risk a UA bankruptcy, which would see both schools get nothing.

The last automaker in California just announced he is pulling all his operations and companies out of the Bay Area for Texas and Nevada. Toyota pulled out in 2018.

My company makes a lot of the replacement car mats for his cars and have met him twice.  I can’t believe he didn’t leave California years ago. He will find (like me) that California hates their constituents and he will be much more profitable out of this state.

Charles Schwabb is completing their new headquarters building here in Dallas and will be moving the main headquarters out of San Francisco.  AT&T  just moved their headquarters here from San Fran as well.

Hyatt Corporation just announced most of their operations will be leaving California for Texas.  According to Forbes, 660 companies have left California the past two years for better futures in Texas, Colorado, Utah and Nevada.

Watch for a mass migration of the largest California based companies to exit right to the East. It’s just too hard to work there.

Californian politicians are way crooked and have killed my state.

With this foolish take, one would think California’s economy would be shrinking.  You post this same crap every year and every year California’s economy puts more distance between it and every other state.  California has the largest, and most diversified economy out of any state, which is evidence in and of itself that your claims are stupid.
How about this.  I’ll start believing your silly claims when the cost of a 1-bedroom in SF drops below a million bucks.  Until then, supply and demand speaks for itself and is the easy conclusion to draw against your claims, which are backed by nothing more than anecdotal evidence.

Speaking of an economy that is poorly diversified, How is Texas doing?  Everything should be fine as long as the price of oil is healthy.  The price of oil is healthy, right?  Ut oh.

Hey, it’s not all bad in Texas.  At least I know where to turn for cheap real estate investments.

Use that lottery pick on the right guy, and get back Nurk. And next year Portland could be pretty good again.

Not a lot of right guys in this draft.  Looking like One of the weaker drafts In a long time.

Warriors, last year: so good very few teams even pretended to compete.

Warriors, this year: top 5 pick?

Best thing to happen to the team.  They were a 7th seed at best this year.  Now, they will get a real asset and the idea of adding Giannis in 2020 has even more legs to it.

Zion's knees already failing him?  Sounds like he will be out for a few weeks due to knee pain.  Is he the next Brandon Roy?

While Roy was a very good player, Zion’s talent is on another level.  I’m not sure there would be a player of his talent to retire early due to injuries.

he does seem to get injured frequently.  A man of that size is probably not meant to move that explosively.  The human body is only so durable.

Doesn’t upset me.  Constructive engagement only whets the appetite for freedom.

It doesn’t upset me but i found his takes pretty stupid.  His attempts to walk things back were not exactly strategic either.  If LeBron is truly all about the money, which I don’t believe he is, then issuing hot takes in this climate and on this issue is not exactly wise.

lebron’s brand is at its best when kids think he is cool and this is not how you score cool points.

    Obligatory annual NHL post:

5 of the 8 lower seeds won their first round series, including BOTH 8 seeds. The NHL playoffs are having their own 2007 college football season.

First time in league history that all 4 division winners lost in the first round, that’s crazyness.

it would have been 6 of 8 lower seeds had the Sharks not comeback from a 3-1 series deficit as well as a 3-0 deficit with 10 minutes left in the 3rd period of game 7.

The best looking team in the playoffs IMO was the 8th seeded Avalanche.  They look way faster than everyone else and that offense ripped apart top seeded Calgary.  Now they face  what has to be the worst goalie in the playoffs in San Jose’s Martin Jones.  Sharks might get swept.

I generally drink bloody Mary mix on morning flights and ginger ale on afternoon or evening flights.

Ginger ale was my old favorite before I dropped soda from my diet.  I still drink it occasionally on return flights if I've had a little too much fun on my trip.  In fact, there's a very good chance I'll be drinking Ginger Ale on Sunday.

  9. Faith in humanity restored!  I can't believe those spawn of Satan at United had the temerity to remove tomato juice from their list of in-flight beverages.  I was fairly certain up to this point that tomato juice was invented for the specific purpose of providing a refreshing and nutritious alternative to soda on a flight.  For some reason, tomato juice is at it's finest when you're 30,000 feet in the air.  This is a big win for decent folks everywhere.  And because I am flying to SD today for my brothers bachelor party, I will celebrate in kind.

As I stated in another thread, my brother got into Harvard's MBA program and now just found out he got into Stanford's MBA program. Still waiting on MIT, and Cal waitlisted him. Feel proud AH

Congrats to your brother!  Thats a big friggin deal!  And hey, us Cal fans don't have much going for us these days so we can't afford to miss an opportunity to feel a little proud.

In Tedford's last year, Cal improved to 6th in attendance in the conference with their newly freshened digs, moving up from their 11th place the year before when they played at AT&T park.

Yeah, those were the two worst years of Tedford. AT&T Park only holds about 40k.  Memorial Stadium holds about 66k

reminds me of the year dirk won MVP and the mavs got bounced in the first round as a 1 seed. we acknowledge the award was bestowed but we never talk about it.

Or when Kershaw wins a CY Young and then gets slapped around in the playoffs?  Oh wait, that happened both times. You're welcome Don.

I was talking Cal.  I agree that California, indeed the West Coast, is less than enthusiastic about college sports as measured by SEC standards, but Cal’s attendance in light of potential audience is an outlier.  Deeper problems than general California apathy.

Yeah, Sonny Dykes. Wilcox isn't nearly as sexy of a hire as say a Chip Kelly.  It takes time and winning to bring in a California crowd that has far better things to do on weekends than spend 4-6 hours watching crappy football.  Cal was top 4 in the confernece in attendance during most of the Tedford years.

That second list is hilarious. Oxford is a "metro"?????? It has 10,000 fewer people than Pullman. Laramie? Ames?

I don't believe that Stanford number in the first list. Maybe it's based on ticket sales, as opposed to actual butts in seats.

Anyone who believes this has never seen a Stanford home game on TV or has never been to a Stanford home game in person. They would be lucky to hit 70% attendance.

My brother had an Stanford MBA admissions interview with the deputy Pac 12 commissioner. He had asked me what to ask but all of the questions I could think of probably wouldn't have helped him

"When are you going to get the Pac 12 Networks on Direct TV!?  Is it time to admit that not partnering with a distributor was a huge mistake?  What are you guys doing to proactively grow the pac 12 brand? Isn't it time we end the Friday Conference Championship game experiment already?"

Yeah, I wouldn't have been of much help either.
