I just wonder why the briefing has to be classified.

It seems like if you want to tamp down the panic & conspiracy theories, you’d put it on CSPAN for everyone.

It didn't have to be classified.

I think that was to try and control the information which is an egregious misuse.

Got a memo regarding COVID...basically just take any precaution and telework if you are feeling sick.

@orange will be pleased that the Feds are taking actions based on science.  The CDC is not recommending use of surgical masks or any other respiratory prevention measures.

Just me?

Is there a segment of the population -- even christian conservatives -- who would prefer the CDC pray on it?

The CDC is recommending good hygiene especially with respect to hands.

SCIENCE shows  the biggest problem in transmission is by hands touching something and then going to your eyes, nose or mouth.

You start telling people to wear masks, which are uncomfortable and sweaty at which point you do what? Poke at it and move it with your hands going where? That's right, eyes nose and mouth.

So no, masks are NOT the first go to for people outside of healthcare where the bulk of transmission will come from hands.

18 months to a vax, and that's if it's fast tracked.

Ain't nothing but bullshit coming out of the small fingered vulgarians mouth. A steady stream of sewage.

Would it really be 16 months between human trials, and putting it out to market?

Moderna Therapeutics, a biotech company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has shipped the first batches of its COVID-19 vaccine to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, which will prepare the vaccine for human testing as early as April, according to Time.

Yes, it really will be 18 months.

Get it ready for trials, approved for trials, run the trials, write the report and get it out. Get approval.

Then manufacture large quantities after validating a controlled process.

18 months for any meaningful supply.
