Bowl Games: A Thread

Well, yes they did, but we’ve only got three defensive starters available and a freshman OL started at NT tonight so that’s why our defense is giving up a metric fuckton of yards per play.

The only way this game was going to be close was if the offense could keep pace, but, you know, Anthony Brown.

To be fair, this game should really be much closer. A dumb penalty cost Oregon a TD in first half and another extended an Oklahoma drive that resulted in a TD. Between those, the dropped passes, and the wide open passes thrown at receivers feet, Oregon has been its own worst enemy. If they didn't keep shooting themselves in the foot, they would be right there with Oklahoma in spite of missing so many guys.

All things considered, not a horrific showing by the Ducks losing by 2 scores.

When Oregon didn't shoot themselves in the foot, the Sooners could not stop the Ducks on offense. Unfortunate that the defense was decimated by players sitting out and injuries which led to the OU offensive output. If the Ducks had the players on defense that they had in the CCG, they could have won.

All season, national critics and outside fans have belittled our conference. Looks like they were right.

Oklahoma, Ohio State are top 15 teams. Utah losing to a good Ohio State team wouldn't be surprising.  Oregon basically had had half their team not playing and reeling after Utah loses and Mario packing his bags..

But Utah State, Wisky and certainly Central Fucking Michigan were winnable games.  Pathetic showing for the conference.  I think UCLA had a good chance to beat NC State too.

To be fair, OKLA was up 31-3 at the half, and the game was over.  OKLA pulled back in the 2nd half, and still won by a sizeable margin.
