This is crazy person talk here, but if there are no more seats at the SEC/B1G table, would a 'best of' conference be able to at least keep a mirage of tenability?

  • West Division
    • Oregon
    • Washington
    • Cal
    • Stanford
    • Zona
    • Colorado
    • Kansas
    • TCU
  • East Division
    • Clemson
    • Florida St
    • Miami
    • Virginia
    • North Carolina
    • GT
    • OkSt
    • Houston

Doubtful, but seems a lot better than sitting in the Pac-10.

I don’t see why this puts any added pressure on Notre Dame to suddenly make a move.

It’s ESPN vs. Fox and the Irish have NBC all to themselves.

It would effect them if the B1G and SEC will no longer schedule them. I don't know if either has the fortitude to do that, but if they did that for a couple of years, I can't see the Irish not caving.

Yeah, let's throw away even more revenue generated by games with the socal teams. That makes perfect sense, losing even more money will make the remaining teams stronger! FFS people are stupid.

Just hoping Utah is left with a seat when all the dust settles. I fear that there are several schools from the Pac, Big 12 and ACC that will be left on the outside looking in.

I don't think you should be too worried about where Utah stands since they are AAU.  The only question is whether UA, ASU, CU, and Utah will be in the Pac-12 or Big 12.

Sounds like B1G is going to wait for ND to make decision then go forward from there. Just because they are not adding Oregon and Washington at this moment does not mean they do not ultimately get added. My guess is once they have ND in the bag they all get together and decide on number and which other teams to add. I would guess tOSU, USC, ND and maybe UM will be driving the bus.

Could see politicians throwing a wrench in this, but would end up hurting schools forced to stay behind more than benefitting the schools with the opportunity.

I cannot see the B1G being strong armed by Oregon and Washington to take the Beavs and Wazzu.  Perhaps if USC had insisted they take the original Pac8, but that ship has obviously sailed.

This is stupid. It's an athletic association. Tying WSU and OS to UW and UO could sink any chance UW and UO have of remaining one of the big boys. It's a lose lose.
