How is Washington quad 1 but Colorado and Utah aren’t

It has a lot to do with where the game is played. Since WSU beat UW on the road and UW's net ranking is 72, that falls into the Quad 1 bucket for WSU for now. Since WSU only beat Utah and CU in Pullman, Utah and CU would have to have a net ranking of 30 to be Quad 1 wins. Utah is 49 and CU is 41. This all changes daily.

If WSU beat these two on the road or even a neutral, they would be Quad 1 wins.

Here's the basic formula:

Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75.
Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135.
Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240.
Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353.

He was rightfully ejected. The refs were losing control of the game with how shitty it was being called and Mack reacted poorly. It happens.it will likely cost UCLA the game. Tony Padilla is awful.

Totally dirty play.  I'm not sure blaming the refs is the story of this game.  The refs also missed another flagrant 1 in the first half on #9 offering shoulders to the face on a moving screen at about the 12:30 mark. The game was physical and I thought it was called both ways. Maybe Cronin should have a practice where he tells his kids it's not OK to full swing elbows and shoulders into the throats and faces of the opponents? Two dirty plays.

BTW, someone on UCLA's staff needs to remind #9 Berke whatever the fuck his name is, he's not as good as Kevin Durant in his prime. LOL at that guy walking away from shots like he knew they were going in, only to break the rim with bricks. While they're at it, get that dude some shampoo and soap. No shampoo in Turkey? You could lube the team bus with all the grease dripping off that guy's mop.

I didn’t see anyone blaming the refs.

Lol. So saying Mack reacted poorly to how shitty the game was being called and saying Tony Padilla is terrible isn’t blaming the refs?

Bug usually blames refs for all losses in football and basketball.

It looked like UCLA players thought this was an MMA fight rather than a basketball game.

Tony Padilla is a shitty ref.

Utah is an extremely physical team and got away with a lot of physical play all night.

Mack lost his cool and committed a really bad foul.

UCLA lost because we suck at defending game winning shots.

All are true.

Carlson, the veteran, had been jawing at Mack all the way down the floor. Mack, inexperienced, responded in a way that he gets caught Mack intentionally went high on Carlson. What I found kinda funny was Carlson while he was on the floor he was holding his neck in pain, but after he got up he was actually covering his left shoulder as opposed to his neck area. The way he was lying on the floor we thought that maybe he was dead. But after he heard the flagrant 2 call he quickly resurrected like it was Sunday - oh wait it was Sunday.

Utah played a chippy, physical game that played off the terrible reffing. Grabbing when the refs couldn't see and then getting UCLA called for a foul for shaking off the grab. Their experience really showed. I think our team grew after the game. I expect them to be pissed and play with more controlled fury. Especially after losing their best player and we got blown out last time we played. We lost, but showed a lot of growth. Not sure we need racist remarks about greasy foreigners, but I’m always here for a good nation meltdown. And speaking of Berke, Did you happen to see how Berke got thrown to the ground? At least they called the foul but I suspect that wasn't an isolated play and not controlling the game led to what we saw. Hence my point.

So now you are a doctor and know what is real pain and fake pain from your armchair? LMAO. Who knew. It was a dirty play. Period.

Saying your boy is greasy isn't racist. He is greasy and looks like he doesn't know what a shower is. Don't forget he also MMA shoulder'd Erickson in the face that should have been a flagrant. The announcers also agreed. Someone should tell him he hasn't reached Kevin Durant's level quite yet.

Maybe UCLA players will learn smack talk and jawing is part of the game but choke holds, throat punches and shoulder bulldozing belongs in the MMA. I'm guessing Mack idolizes Draymond Green?

It's interesting that you never talk about the refs in UCLA wins.

Do you have a clip or time reference in the game?  So a foul was called but you thought it was more?

Apparently you missed his MMA shoulder to the face he gave Erickson at the 12:30 mark in the first half.

Greasy and dirty play apparently. Keep in mind, you’re the one complaining about the refs. I thought it was called pretty fair.

Let's just say that there's nothing neutral about these comments.  If the Bruins were as defensive as these two paragraphs, they would have won by 20.

Great job from multiple Bruins to step up in that game. Berke, Will, even Ken. Mack takes himself out of the game. Bona takes himself out of the game (again). And in true Cronin fashion, the rest of the team steps up and doesn’t back down. So much admiration for the toughness of these guys This loss really stings. The 46-point loss was years ago. This is the one that hurts and will continue to hurt after this season ends.

Out of twelve losses (with more to come) this is the loss that will continue to hurt?  Not the one to Northridge?  Or the one to Cal?  When it's likley the Bruins will never play Utah again?

Vastly different team now my man. The growth has been great to see since those earlier games. Mick Cronin’s teams always look much different than from early season, especially with newer builds. We saw the same in 2020 but COVID wiped out a likely tournament run. Oh well, it’s the nature of things at times.

Cronin did it largely to himself by recruiting such a raw team and not chasing difference makers through transfers and believing in difference makers in Euros. it will cost him a NCAA berth. Unlike 40 years ago, the UCLA AD is a patient one so he will get another year regardless to continue on this path provided he can keep most together
