SteveLAztec
This would be fantastic. What do you think Utah? I read it on the MWCboard...So it must be true.
Utefan1211
A true letdown for sure. A bowl is supposed to be a reward, not a practice session.
EastCoastFan
I would think that Utah, with the great season they're having, would rather play a team from a serious conference.
Orange
This would be absolute shit. If I'm a Utah fan, I hope and pray for anything but.
utenation
After the last two seasons of not bowling, anything works for me.. But I wouldn't be too excited to play any MWC team in a bowl game. We just left that conference, nothing else to prove.. So I guess the appeal isn't there for me.. I'd like to go to a new bowl, this is why we joined the PAC, to get away from the MWC.. We've played in the Sun Bowl is all since joining.
MussMan
I'm already going to be in Vegas that weekend to watch the Runnin' Utes play UNLV. It will be convenient to go to the Vegas bowl in the same trip, but I'd much rather see them go to a higher profile game against a P5 opponent than play another MWC team. The matchup (likely BSU or CSU) against Utah doesn't really excite me either. I'd rather watch purple UW, an AZ team, or UCLA in the Vegas bowl. Utah and the MWC are too familiar. SteveLAztec
Ok...Your answers were just about what I thought. Now how would feel about going to the Las Vegas Bowl and getting BEAT by a MWC team. Oh Myyyy, would that ever be fun!!!!

Happens a lot, largely because the lowly, POS MWC team is stoked to be there, while the P5 team is disappointed, and often coming in off a sub-par season. spaniard
I just remember how excited BYU fans were at "dethroning" Oregon, when we had Brady Leaf as our starter. But I also remember the effing Seattle bowl against Wake Forest. And had to listen to Husky fans cheer for Wake, I dont think I've ever been more pissed off to be at a Bowl game than at that moment. spaniard
Also happens a lot when it's the #1-2 MWC team against the #4-5 PAC team (out of 10). Has nothing to do with the rankings. The #1 or #2 team in the MWC is not going to be better than the #4 or #5 team in the PAC Conference. It's an upset when shit like that happens
glduck
sometimes they are. not this year, but in years past the best mwc teams have been a lot better than our soft marshmallowy center.

The #1 or #2 team in the MWC is not going to be better than the #4 or #5 team in the PAC Conference. It's an upset when shit like that happens LOL. OK, bud. First off, my post was clearly about pre-realignment (when wyoming had a chance to make the vegas bowl and I so was paying attention...ha ha. ). Over that span, the #1 MWC team often would have been favored over the #1 PAC 12 team. Granted, those teams are gone now-but Boise State was knocking of Rose Bowl bound-Oregon. If you discount our lost teams, you gotta add our additions. Secondly, the proof is in the pudding- and no. This is the PAC's strongest year in a long time and the MWC's weakest year. Your #5 team is Utah; our best team is CSU or Boise. That's not much of an upset in your best year and our no-standout year. For that matter, the MWC generally won the Vegas bowl. #5 vs. #1 or 2 is a mismatch. The best team in the MWC is generally in the 15-25 range whereas the #5 PAC team is in the 20-30 range. That means usually the MWC team wins. Thirdly, Fresno sucks.

All Hail
. For that matter, the MWC generally won the Vegas bowl. #5 vs. #1 or 2 is a mismatch. A 8-5 Record is much more of a toss-up and much less of a 'generally won' or 'mismatch' like you claim. The bowl is rigged in the MWC from the start as the Pac 12 team is often very unhappy to be there while the MWC is itchin to proof themselves against the West Coast's premiere conference. TCU's "holy crap" years". 2011 was pretty good for us but better for the PAC. For that matter, 2004 and 2005 kinda are interesting given the whole vacated wins thing. happycamper
A 7-6 Record is much more of a toss-up and much less of a 'generally won' or 'mismatch' like you claim. Ok bud. The games, the voters, and the computers say differently.
