Did you even watch the video? It says teens are foresaking alcohol and cigarettes for weed.

Do you think that's a BAD thing?

Just means their use of drugs is easier to hide from parents and law enforcement.

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/kids-health/marijuana-may-be-worse-teen-brains-alcohol-study-finds-n916296

and more damaging to their developing brains.

Finally it does not say that teens are forsaking cigarettes and alcohol for marijuana. Rather it demonstrates that teens are smoking and drinking less while their consumption of marijuana remains the same. So while advances in child health are being made on the alcohol and tobacco front, no gains are being made on the marijuana front.

And yet you (and the fucking retarded video) inferred from that information that marijuana is a "gateway" drug?

If alcohol and cigarette use is going down, but MJ use is staying the same, that's actually proof-positive the entire drug-war "gateway" canard is a lie.

Also, the video clearly states that vaping statistics were not included, which entirely vitiates your "advances are being made" in reduction of tobacco use.

NUMEROUS studies have totally disproven the preposterous idea that marijuana is a gateway drug.  You should be embarrassed for repeating that:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/ending-addiction-good/201408/marijuana-the-gateway-drug-myth

https://www.nap.edu/read/6376/chapter/2#6

And that study in the NBC article is a joke.

To get a more honest account of their marijuana and alcohol consumption, students were assured that parents and teachers would not have access to the information — unless there was an imminent safety risk. The study concluded that marijuana had a more damaging effect on teenagers’ long-term cognitive abilities than alcohol. Even after students reported stopping marijuana, their cognition did not improve.

So even when they don't use it, their cognition is poor.  Ummmmm....sounds like there may be more than just the devil's lettuce at play here.

This is exactly the same study you linked to here in early October. Check it out. And by the way, that article makes no mention of tobacco use, so you're simply speculating about marijuana being "more damaging" to young brains. You actually have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Yes, the damage is permanent or long term. When they stop using, cognition does not improve.

No, there is no such definitive research to support this statement.

Some studies suggest regular marijuana use in adolescence is associated with altered connectivity and reduced volume of specific brain regions involved in a broad range of executive functions such as memory, learning, and impulse control compared to people who do not use.38,39 Other studies have not found significant structural differences between the brains of people who do and do not use the drug.40

He doesn’t have any idea what he’s talking about.  He’s here to troll me because he thinks my support of legalization is a joke. Haha!  Generations of black and brown men languishing in prison creating generational poverty and misery in poor communities!  Haha!   Continue prohibition because I’m old, scared, white, and hate Bob Marley and Cheech and Chong!!  Haha!

Fuck you, don, seriously.

You have ABSOLUTELY nothing to support this statement, nor the asinine assumption that alcohol is better for teens than marijuana.  How many dead from DUIs?  How many dead from alcohol poisoning?  How many lives ruined in abusive households because of alcoholism?   Seriously, you oughta be banned from this particular thread due to your use of Donesty.

Uh...maybe they're stupid kids from stupid parents who don't prevent their teenage kids from smoking too much marijuana?  Or would you prefer any red-herring study that goes out of its way to demonize the safest "drug" in human history?
