Do Jordan’s allies hate him? (possible!)

They spend yesterday whipping votes and take it to the floor and he loses more votes than he did the first round? Who’s advising this man

Harassing their spouses can do that to some people... unless you are Ted Cruz then it is just a kink.

How long before "moderate" GOPers go begging for dem votes?  I think even the ones in Biden districts still will rather burn the government down than be remotely bipartisan.

I think the bigger question will be will the Democratic party in any sizable scale agree to vote a moderate republican (see Liz Cheney) in as speaker in order to prevent that spineless bootlicker Jim Jordan from being 2 steps away from the Presidency.

Wasn't MSU predicted to finish last in their division?

They were picked last in the coaches preseason poll I know of  and I think Vegas had the O/U at 7 wins I believe but I think a lot of the doubt surrounding them has been in regard to the HC situation.  They won 9 games last year and return quite a number of veterans for this year including QB Will Rogers which imo gives them a decent advantage over a number of SEC schools given the state of QB play in the conference.  They also have a manageable schedule given they play in the SEC West with 8 home game and they don't have to play either Georgia or Tennessee from the east.  I had them pegged as an 8 win team coming into the season and given the way some of other middle of the pack teams over there have struggled I like their chances.

Personally, I don't think UCLA is worth $52 million per.  I think UCLA to the B10 move was to complete the grabbing the rest of the LA media market, also not leaving USC as the lone Western school. UCLA hoops is a valuable product but football is still king. I would pay Oregon $52 million before I would pay UCLA that much.

UCLA football is average at best with terrible attendance. Average TV ratings as well.

Hindsight is 20/20 and something to keep the conference together seems juicy but if I were Oregon, I would have said no to that deal as well.

Losing the LA market was the kill shot of the Pac-12.  For that reason UCLA even if you belief they aren't worth that much would have had all the leverage in the world to have gone to the Pac and said "we are willing to stay, send me a blank check and I'll write in how much I think is appropriate" and the conference would have been better off to do so.

No way that conference will have 18 teams.  There would be eight teams in the PAC next year to meet the FBS conference requirements and then at least two to four MWC teams in 2025.

If the PAC does not have eight teams for next year, it will have to dissolve.

They would have a 2 year grace period to get back up to 8 if needed.

Is this guy just a troll, or is there any validity here?

Stanford being in the same conference as Boise St is something I find about as likely as Notre Dame giving up independence.

Also anything that involves a conference dissolving without all the schools of said conference moving somewhere "up" is usually a pretty telling sign that it is made up.

Don talked about the old Pac-8 a few times here and I have the old Big 8 to fall back on.  I think the PAC will be back in some form but who knows what it will be like?  Suppose Arizona enjoys playing basketball in the Big 12...will they be back?

Basketball isn't going to be immune to the cash grab.  It is only a matter of time before they try to wrest control of the tournament from the NCAA.  If there is a snap back to regionalism then it will be centered around the non-revenue sports.

This is where I think CFB will be in six years.  Also maybe we know who the first CFB commissioner will be.

As long as ESPN, Fox, Apple, Amazon etc... believe there is money to be made from it we are going to see further consolidation rather then a return to regionalism.

Those two could say they are leaving in 2036 and work out an earlier exit and a reduced exit fee.  If the ACC-ESPN deal at least stays the same per team, the ACC's chances of winning in court could dwindle.  Once the Big 12 announced their new media rights deal post OU/UT, it was easier to negotiate an exit for those two schools.  The same could be said for the ACC after they announce a revised media rights deal after FSU and Clemson declare their intentions to exit the ACC at a specific date.  The FSU board discussions also point to a possible FSU & Clemson announcement after this upcoming season.

It's going to be the B1G versus the SEC for football and Big 12 versus the ACC for basketball going forward.

The next version of the ACC in the post Clemson/Florida St world is going to resemble the Pac-4.  Once Clemson & Florida St announce their departure so too will any school that could find a home in the B1G/B12/SEC which is pretty much everyone outside Boston College & Wake Forest.

Dallas could be a good hub for those two to shorten those ACC trips.

That almost assures FSU and Clemson are on their way out of the ACC by next week.

Those lawsuits would drag on for years, not sure they would be wanted by the B1G/SEC until those suits were settled.

Guy is from Charleston in WV which is known for big FBI drug busts...no surprise if he's using some stuff but he has been accurate on some of that stuff of late like Greg has been telling you.  Also if you search online, the WV Board of Regents-like body for all the colleges (just like AZ) is located in Charleston, the capital city of WV.  Could be some regents who are well connected to athletics with loose lips.

I can understand if he was being spoon fed information from someone within the West Virginia circle but that doesn't explain how he seemingly has a source at every university that pops up in a rumor.  What he does is he combs the internet for tidbits then spins a story that he will push.  As an example.

I've been following him this whole time and he's been as accurate if not more so than the big brand talking heads. He had USCLA leaving before Wilner did as well.

If there has ever been a rumor about a school leaving someone he pops up claiming to have a source at that university every time.  If we crowd sourced a made up rumor it would only be a matter of time before he picked it up and ran with it.

Things he has said were happening

    - Arizona, Arizona St & Colorado leaving to the B12 (multiple occasions since the Pac-16 fell apart)

    - Arkansas & LSU leaving the SEC to go to the B12

    - Nebraska leaving the B1G to return to the B12

    - West Virginia leaving the B12 to go to the ACC

and on and on,  if you throw enough stuff out there you are bound to be right at some point.  I know it makes it sound like I hate the guy but I don't.  I actually find his schtick to be entertaining to follow, I just don't take anything he says seriously.

Other than Oregon St & Washington St unfairly being pushed down, I think the worst thing about all of this is that people are going to think this guy is legitimate when in actuality he has been poop slinging for near 15 years going all the way back to his West Virginia scout message board days.
