Orange Posted October 12, 2020 Share Posted October 12, 2020 Let’s face it. The Senate is a bullshit, anti-democratic institution that’s been weaponized by McConnell. We keep wringing our hands about how/why 70% or Americans want universal health care, abortion on demand, legal weed and an end to the drug war, tax increases for the rich, etc., yet we can’t get it done. Of the possible fixes for this problem: 1. End the filibuster and pack the court during the time we hold the senate (hopefully 2021) 2. Push through statehood for Puerto Rico and DC (it’s embarrassing that a place with a greater population than Wyoming and Vermont has no representation in the House or Senate). 3. Abolish the Senate. Yeah, yeah, that last one’s ridiculous but I wanted a list of 3.
