All the offensive spotlight in this conference goes to the QBs. But Bucky Irving is having a great year. 100 yards per game. 10 TDs and catches a lot of balls too. The next few weeks are going to be fun watching the race to the finish.

Utah is lucky to have 7 wins this year with this lineup. We are held together with duct tape. We’ve had a great run since 2018 but the PAC is just too good to try and win with 2nd and 3rd string guys. Not our year and we better get next year figured out quickly. We still have major questions at QB for 2024.

My oh my, how things have changed since the TCU game…. Watching Sanders gimp around the sidelines like a defeated old man is priceless. His mouth isn’t running these days for some reason. I hope he still keeps receipts.

Houston completely eliminated our height advantage. Their 6’7” dudes played like 7 footers. Long arms. All their guards go right up the chest of our shot blockers. 6 point game with a minute to go but they pulled away with late 3’s. Utah played good. Just outmatched in this one. I think Utah will be a bubble team if we stay remotely healthy.

Bringing in Lovering to play the 5 has allowed Branden to open up his game more as a 4.

Nice win for Utah tonight. Wake Forest is a quick gritty team. Our zone defense bothered them in the second half. Branden Carlson was money tonight. 31 points, 5 blocks. Not sure about playing Houston next. They are super good defensively.

@Orange and @KUGRDON, I'm not trying to rub salt in any wounds here. I wanted the P12 to stay together as you know. But what are your thoughts on this moving forward? For 2 years, this is a football only scheduling alliance. Apparently, the P2 will try to put their other sports on other conferences? I would think hoops would be a good fit for the MWC scheduling as well rather than hodge podge 30 game schedules with other conferences. In the West, what is there after the WCC that would work?

The way I read this is, the members will still have reduced revenue to pay the debt. And maybe the emergency fund was used to square Comcast right away rather than some repayment plan. There's the Comcast over payment debt for sure. And I'm not sure if that's being chopped off on 23/24 payouts. On the P12 network, I think that would be mostly equipment that will probably pay pennies on the dollar. The only other P12 network infrastructure I can think of is the P12 Network broadcast studio which I'm not sure what value that would bring.

I'm not sure on the line item details of future assets but NCAA Tourney credit payouts is probably a big one. I think those assets are paid out over a 6 year period.

I think Utah gets AZ this weekend. Either way, Jedd Fisch gets my vote for coach of the year in the P12. I think Whittingham deserves a nod for the job he's done with all our injury issues and duct taping a team together but Utah was expected to do well this year. AZ gained a lot more ground from where they were. Impressive. I think Utah and AZ will make a good splash in the B12 next year. I listened to an interview with Brian Jeffries the voice of the Wildcats. 30+ years at the job? This guy is all class and very respectful. I also learned Noah Fifita is related to former Utah D-tackle great $teve Fifita. $teve wouldn't ever have to pay for a meal or beer in SLC.

The 10 schools need to get their 23/24 distributions as agreed, then check out of the hotel in all capacities. The 4 corners get full shares from the B12 day 1. The LA Schools get full shares from day 1. UW/Oregon get $30 million of media distribution day 1 with a $1 million bump each year. They get full pooled revenue shares day 1. They get full media shares in 2030. Cal/Stan are pretty much screwed on ACC media dollars until there is a new contract. If this conference even survives. Most of the 10 will be just fine with their new conference from the start. You don’t need to have both P12 revenue and your new conference revenue no matter what you think you earned for future distributions. Realignment is messy. But it’s time to cut the cord and move on.
