Wasn't the widespread voter fraud which put the wrong person in the White House in 2016?

As far as I know there has never been voter fraud sufficient to swing any election.

If the SEC/B1G requested a meeting with Utah and asked them to invite special guest Chris Hill to explore conference membership opportunities, they would all be on the next flight to Birmingham/Rosemont, regions be damned.

    Now you are changing arguments.

You claimed people associated with Utah shouldn't comment because Utah moving to Pac was equivalent to USC to B1G, which is bullshit.

You are right they are different.  One move benefited Utah, the other didn't.

Dr. Hill pointed out the huge travel difference would be detrimental to athletes in other sports. Utah joined a conference that they were squarely in the footprint of. If you cannot acknowledge the difference, you are either being willfully ignorant, or just a dumbass.

You are projecting.  I merely pointed out the self-serving hypocrisy of not only Chris Hill's statement (in this instance), but of some Utah fans especially when USC/UCLA announced that they were leaving.  When leaving suited them Utah did it, so why shouldn't anyone else.

Everyone can do what they want, but the 2 moves were very different, and you seem to be willfully ignoring that and saying they are equivalent.

So regional alignment only matters when it benefits your university.  Got it.

When did Utah previously join a conference they were not regionally aligned with? You think Utah is an outlier in the Pac like west coast teams in B1G? You seem butthurt about this.

lul. They played BYU 8 times since 2011 as a member of the Pac-12, and Wyoming? Seriously? Wyoming is a Utah rival is your argument? Aside from Wyoming stealing Utah's claim as the most rectangular state, nobody gives a fuck about that "rivalry".

Not to mention that Utah has not been in the same conference as Utah State since the early 60's.

Utah has as much right to voice their views as anyone in this conference.

Yes.  Utah left behind regional rivals in BYU, Utah St., Wyoming, etc. to join the West Coast.

    Awful take.

There isn't a G5 team in the country that wouldn't move up to their regional P5 conference.

  8. If all schools were independent, 5-10 schools would make all the money, and the rest would be given peanuts. Conferences give the non blue blood teams some leverage. If it is a 64 team conference that collectively bargains for all its members, ok. All independent would be a disaster for vast majority of schools.

In the Big 12, Arizona, Arizona State and Utah will receive a full $31.7 million annually in media rights revenue (not including other league revenue from College Football Playoff, etc.) once the Big 12’s new six-year $2.3 billion Grant of Rights deal with ESPN and FOX begins in 2025, sources said.

Probably a little sweat it out moment.  Though I believe I read somewhere that McMurphy a few days ago said that their contract with Fox/ESPN calls for ESPN to pay full share for 4 schools and Fox only 2 which I guess could make some sense if Fox wanted to be petty about Michael Crow/ASU throwing out that last minute roadblock in their plan.

Reports later were that Fox had also agreed to pay for 4. I have no inside info, but trying to stick it to incoming members for no reason seems silly. This is a big business, and incoming Pac schools would be good for the Big 12 and not cost current members a dime, just as the Big 12 is a lifeline to the Pac schools.

  11. Sad day, regardless of what happens. I really loved my school being in this conference, playing regional schools in great locales and associating with elite academic Universities. It is too bad that it is about the money and not the athletics or students. Will miss playing all of our conference mates.

Really wouldn't make any sense to try to lowball incoming members when the escalator clause already in the Big 12 contract. Anything possible at this point, but I don't see it.

So who is to blame for killing the Pac 12?

Depends on who you ask. CU may have killed the last couple of years, but USC/UCLA leaving put it into its death throws. The LA schools would likely blame Larry Scott, GK and Pac leadership. In the end it is about greed and survival, and everyone making sure they get theirs, It is unfortunate that 100+ year associations and rivalries abandoned for money, but that is  where we are at.
