Guest ASUsparky
Well, here are my takes on next weeks games: Arizona State vs Illinois - Great win against Mizzou last week. Another challenge this week on the road in a Big Ten stadium against a hungry Illinois team who in my opinion might be a sleeper to win the Big Ten this year. ASU will probably go in as the media favorite. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if both teams were ranked this week. Ron Zook may be laughed at by opposing team fans, but he knows how to get the Illini prepared for games likes this. I just hope our guys don't get too cocky. We need to play more disciplined here. California vs Presbyterian - CAL fans, I'm assuming these guys were NOT the original opponent for this week? If so, who backed out? Tune up game for CAL Colorado vs Colorado State - Don't let the records fool you here. CSU is 2-0 after beating almighty New Mexico and Northern Colorado while CU is 0-2 after losing heart breakers to Hawaii and CAL. Once every 3-5 years CSU will win, but I'm leaning towards the Buffs on this one. Good luck Buffs Washington vs Nebraska - The ranking is what will throw people off into thinking that "Nebraska will crush UW". Honestly, these 2 teams are exactly the same. They both have explosive offenses and very "meh" defenses. I don't think UW will win here, but it wouldnt surprise me if they did win. Good luck Huskies UCLA vs Texas - I really don't know what to think about this game. Half of me thinks UCLA will beat the "steers" again, the other half thinks Texas will crash the party and rape UCLA. Regardless of who wins I don't think we'll be seeing a blowout here. Good Luck Bruins Oregon vs Missouri State - I wonder if the Ducks can hit 80 this week? Now that would be very impressive. Tune up for the Ducks Washington State vs San Diego State - 123 points in 2 games, when was the last time the Cougs did that? Anyways, I think a lot of us will try to catch this game to see if Paul Wulff finally has Wazzu turned around or if your first two games were an aberration. Good luck Cougers USC vs Syracuse - Hmmmm, USC playing an average OOC opponent. In the Lane Kiffin era, that means this game WILL be close. Good luck SC Utah vs BYU - Must feel good to have this game on ESPN and not have it stuck on the non-existent TV station that covers MWC games. Good luck Utes Stanford vs Arizona - Arizona is tough to beat at home, but Stanford has a very good team coming into Tucson. Good luck to both teams Oregon State - Bye(thank god, they need it)

Good luck to both teams Oregon State - Bye(thank god, they need it) Arizona State is pretty good and they have the moxy to take care of business on the road against a weak sauce big ten opponent. California vs. Presbyterian? Ruck Feno. I hope Colorado State pounds Colorado into the ground this year, but both of these teams are pretty bad. Maybe they will both lose. Washington just might embarass the conference by losing to some big ten team. Please don't let that happen Huskies. UCLA is going up against, no doubt, one of the worst teams in the nation, so they stand a decent chance to win this one. They'll perform a lot better than they did against SJSU, that's for sure. I like the Ducks in this game against Missouri State. They might put up 100 points. They are incredible at demolishing teams that have a flat-lining pulse. I like the way Wazzu is playing right now, and I want to pick them, but if SDSU gets more than two seconds of sleep before the game, unlike what happened before they played Our Troops, they should win the game. IdahoState and UNLV are complete chumps, but if Wazzu can take down SDSU they'll make a believer outta me. I have Stanford over Arizona. Stanford is a legit threat and Arizona is perennially in the middle of the conference, and it will stay that way this year. Utah and Oregon State both have bye weeks so they will get some much needed rest.
Guest Sastrazo
Just look at the wrap around schedule from last year @Stanford USC @Oregon ASU Oklahoma State Northern Arizona @ Oklahoma State Stanford Oregon @USC So you think going 1-9 through that stretch will get Stoops fired? It's looking quite likely that they'll lose the rest of them. It may be different now with Byrne as the AD. First of all, he didn't hire Stoops. Second of all, Byrne comes from the SEC and you can tell he has an agenda to make football relevant in Tucson with the stadium renovations and the big screen addition. I think Stoops remains in place through the end of his current contract which runs through next season. With all of the injuries and inexperience the program currently deals with I don't see his job being in jeopardy unless we have a 1-11 or 2-10 type season. We rolled up 600 yards of offense this week against arguably the best returning defense in the Pac 12. I love this mightier than thou act some Ute fans have. You're history spans ten years. Before that? Not much. It's not going to take CU long to catch limp armed Wynn and Utah.

And we'll see 2 defenses that have played well. So, the only smart bet in this game is UNDER.

Did we put some OOC mid-major team from the South on the schedule? When did this happen?

BYU's D has looked good....and I think it's only a matter of time before the O gets clicking (just not this week, hopefully). Nailbiter as usual. I'm not sure they will this week, either. I think Utah's O is okay-and-improving, but obviously far from prolific. I'd be thrilled if we could hit 24 pts this week. If we can keep BYU under that # (while they're at home--no easy task) then I like our chances. We won't win a shoot out.

Colorado's "history" consists of nothing but bragging about their quality opponents/schedule, and fifth down. WHAT NOW?

I hate defending BYU, ever... but holding Texas to 17 at home is a pretty good defensive game, no? Anyone Ute who is saying "BYU sucks" or "Texas sucks" is being myopic. Both are good teams (note: I'm not saying great) and we'll have our hands very full on Saturday. A loss is not out of the question, in fact, I could argue probable if I'm being totally objective. Not because BYU is noticeably better than Utah, but when you match two even teams, the home team usually wins. It's about as simple as that to me; them's the facts. I'm by no means conceding a loss yet because this game should be close, and the only edge I give BYU is home field.

Texas was one of the worst teams in the nation last year, and this year is going to be no different seeing how retarded they're being with their QB situation. Texas won four games against patsies and had a game gift-wrapped to them by Nebraska last year. This is not a good team. Even UCLA put a gigantic smackdown on them in their own house. I don't know who this "Bayou" or "Beeyou" is you're talking about but apparently they lost to Texas on Saturday so they must not be very good at all.
