Some of us are on our third version posting together so I suspect we are cool with whatever we end up doing. We were posting on the ESPN message boards in 2000 and here we all are still, all be it just in small quantities

    RIP espn boards and collegefanatics.

***gasp**** young athletes of color get to play the market like old, white men have for 300 years.

RB is one position we usually reload in.

If an EE student at OSU gets offered 100k to transfer to Nebraska to finish their BS, they're gone. People are such hypocrites. It's about time the players were empowered, even if it means the destruction of a sport that was already the rich getting richer. At least now we can look it in the face.

I look forward to drafting Donovan Clingan, getting way too excited after a baller rookie year, and then crying softly into my pillow when it’s announced he has to retire from the game within three years because of knee issues.

    Pretty much.

There're a beauty to watch.  The way UConn cuts to the basket, pulling Edey away from the action to the other side.  The way they defend against treys, even attempts at them.  The way every time Hurley calls a timeout, they come back on the floor and immediately run a set play that nails a basket.  The way they can make this all happen with different Huskie players on the floor.  This is a rare thing to watch.  Pretty close to perfection.

They employed the Bill Belichick defense against Thurman Thomas in Super Bowl whatever. "If he rushes for 100 yards we win". They didn't want to lose to Jim Kelly and those receivers. UCONN did the same thing to Purdue. If Edey scores 30 we win. The length and athletic difference on the wings was crazy, and Matt Painter was like a deer in headlights. Hurley ran circles around him. Purdue made ONE 3. That's insane.

Two straight titles and not a single NCAA Tournament game decided by single digits. What a machine.

And basically zero high caliber NBA players either, yet. Crazy.

Yeah….not a hard call to make, just unaccustomed to seeing refs NOT swallow their whistles in the last seconds.

It's a fundamental problem with sports in general when we have to argue why the right call shouldn't be made because it's a certain time of year or game.

I cannot believe they called that on Edwards. Two biggest stars in the game and it’s decided on a screen where Edwards kinda sorta leaned in. Coulda been a classic.

Ehhhh that was pretty obvious, and UConn had gotten away with a ton of crap prior to that. You can't throw your body in front of a defender and deliver a forearm shiver. It will be terrible optics and narrative, however.

I think Oregon is 7-8 players over the limit after NSD and the initial portal window, so we’ll see a bunch of kids jumping ship the latter half of spring ball (spring portal window April 15-30).

A few positions to sort out but hopefully things stay injury-free and Gabriel starts to develop a good rhythm with the receivers.

My last count was 92, the latest chileduck update has it at 87. I think a couple of the ST guys we weren't sure about ended up being walkons.

I honestly think he needs to go back and take a basic US History class. This tells me he likely doesn’t even have a GED.

If he took this class, he might know why many western states don’t have a lot of black people understanding the migration patterns in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.

He’d also know that many of these folks migrated north to the rust belt and north east coast looking for economic opportunity and not the undeveloped west.  Finally, he’d see why California has a lot of black athletes and his southern “lives off the backs of black people” theory is horseshit.

I mean, there are hardly any white people in the NW.

I’m interested to see how Gabriel does.  You guys have figured out how to plug and play these guys very well.

His arm is shit. Good player tho.

  11. Oregon has 40 points in the paint, has attempted 18 threes and has 3 FTA. Creighton has attempted 38 threes and has 18 points in the paint and has shot 12 FT. Like, come the fuck on here guys.

@glduck and @dtd, you guys need to call your bookie tonight and bet the house that Oregon covers the +5.5 spread against Creighton.

    Oregon wins this one fellas.

No fucking way. Easy double digit win for the blue whatever they ares.

Only a few MWC teams sacked up and played a decent non-con. SDSU, Boise and CSU did. But teams like UNM baked a ton of cupcakes, same with USU.

I think the committee wants to see the conference as a whole do something in post season for once to hand out higher seeds. Other than SDSU.

Same as it ever was. It's better now with the net, but good grief. They feed on the weak and then those good records circulate in the conference itself, and nobody seems willing to call a spade a spade.

  14. Do the maffs. The "mid major" conferences are always overrated and when they aren't, people cry foul. Do we really need to talk about how the RPI propped up the worst conferences for decades?
