Meredith Lowell The stabbing happened shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Fairmount Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights. According to the police report, the victim had taken children she babysits to the church for choir practice when the suspect, Meredith Lowell, came up and stabbed her. The victim suffered two stab wounds to her arm and abdomen. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. When officers arrived, a bystander was restraining Lowell. Police applauded the actions of those in the church for putting their safety at risk to help the victim. The Fairmount Presbyterian Church said the children were moved to secure room until their parents arrived. Cleveland Heights police said they believe Lowell's motive is similar to that of her past crimes. In 2012, she was charged with attempting to hire a hit man to kill a person wearing fur. Pablo Gomez Jr., 24, was majoring in Chicanx/Latinx studies at UC Berkeley when they stabbed and killed 27-year-old Emilie Inman at her home on Jan. 6, 2017. After hiding her body in the garden, Gomez went on to stab Kiana Schmitt, who survived. Gomez identifies as non-binary and was heavily involved in the Queer Alliance Resource Center on campus. Gomez was a prominent left-wing student activist advocating for issues related to Black Lives Matter, climate change and sexual violence. They was part of a group of activists who shut down the freeway in response to the police-involved killing of Michael Brown. On Friday, an Alameda County Superior Court judge found Gomez not guilty by reason of insanity. Gomez was deemed unfit to stand trial and was sentenced to 39 years in a state mental hospital. After the ruling, around a dozen of Inman’s family members and friends cried as they spoke to the court. Emilie’s mother, Nathalie Inman, described how Gomez had brutally “butchered” her daughter and took meticulous steps to hide her body. “So who is responsible?” she asked. “Apparently, no one.” Emilie Inman was a French national who did not know Gomez. Twitter allow noted that they would allow for nude depictions of children on their platform in certain instances. “Artistic depictions of nude minors in a non-sexualized context or setting may be permitted in a limited number of scenarios e.g., works by internationally renowned artists that feature minors,” they added. Twitter’s pro-pedo policy may have been implemented at the behest of Dr. James Cantor, who describes himself as a proud Jewish homosexual. Cantor is a leading researcher and advocate for pedophiles, who he refers to as minor-attracted persons. Cantor wrote a letter in Jan. 2018 to John Starr, who works as Director of Trust and Safety with Twitter, with other university academics.
