I agree that Hurley is morally right but the AD’s job is largely dependent on their ability to get along with and ultimately extract money out of donors. In that sense, it’s the most likely hill to die on for an AD, particularly a lazy and unethical one. A sign of a poor executive is their inability to push back against and successfully influence their stakeholders, particularly when their stakeholders are in the wrong.
