If I was an NFL fan, that’s not the first impression I’d want to read about my first round pick & franchise face. On the other hand, as long as UCLA is clearly focusing on the future, I’d think that extra practice with the 1s & game experience for the bruin QB backup(s) would help the incoming staff more. i wonder if any team has ever announced ahead of time that they were going to treat their mid-level bowl like the NFL preseason where the outgoing QB would be limited to the first few series. Apparently you can have an extra coach if you fire your head coach and promote an assistant for bowl games.
