MrBug708
Chris Taylor would have been a cheaper alternative
glduck
hell i’d be cheaper, but the current regime covets speed and athleticism. gordon gives them more of that, besides the int’l money. besides i would never wish a second stint on the mariners on anyone. taylor did his time. let him rejoice with a real franchise now. PAC MAN
Did the Yanks drug test Stanton first especially after going through their saga with A-Rod?
Orange
That's an awfully crowded and pricy outfield in NY. I wonder if Ellsbury will waive his no-trade clause in order to get to play somewhere that actually wants to pay for him.

glduck
i had to look that up, i had no idea dee gordon got busted. let him join a long line of mariners who cheat and are still awful.
glduck
but no, i think jay leno there was just making a timely roid joke, because of course it’s 2002 and anyone who can hit a HR is probably a juicer.

glduck
and this was true prior to last year, when several iffy trades only weakened it further. how do you stay as bad as the mariners have been for so long? god awful drafting. oakland successfully rebuilt themselves 4 or 5 times in the span of seattle's playoff drought. houston was terrible for awhile and built a world series champion through the draft. we've been bad three times as long as houston was and the mariners system doesn't have a tenth of the talent they do.
