Fighter games rejoice!!! (hopefully)

You won't need to buy three different discs for Street Fighter V like you had to for Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Version, and Ultra Street Fighter IV.  Just finally got the Ultra Street Fighter IV upgrade for $15.  I'd say this version of Street Fighter is my favorite and my second favorite would be Super Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX for the PSP.

Tekken 7 will have an announcement on July 7th what platform it is for.  If it is for the PC, I'm going to have a hard time seeing myself ever get a PS4.

I'm working on building my own arcade cabinet and I'm wondering if anyone has some good suggestions to look for arcade parts.  My first build will most likely be an arcade stick for Ultra Street Fighter IV or something like that.

I think this thread should be moved to the sports forums as the DOTA 2 championships have just begun and are being aired on ESPN.  The prize pool is 18 million dollars!  The prize pool last year was 6 million dollars and thus the game is growing fast.  Me and a couple of my friends have started to play the game just to see what all of the hype was about.  Holy shit, people take this game very seriously and there is a super steep learning curve.  Chances are strong to very strong that some dudes in Korea are going to fuck your shit up the first 100 or so times you play.   http://www.theverge.com/2015/8/3/9091017/dota-2-ti5-start-gabe-newell-valve

Also, this is what Chad Johnson does when he is bored. http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/page/instantawesome-ChadJohnson-150804/chad-johnson-showed-fan-house-challenge-fifa

Anyone thinking of getting the new Apple TV for gaming? It'll be interesting to see how it does compared to other microconsoles. You can use a game pad that works with iOS. I have that Mad Catz game pad and it should work with the new Apple TV. Also, the Mad Catz game pad clip on holder can fit my new iPhone 6 Plus as well. Now I can have some fun playing games on the go!

I feel the casual game market is where they are intending the Apple TV to work.

Imagine a group playing Scrabble, all with their tiles on their own device, and the board on the screen. Board games would be fun this way.

However, they've seemingly packed quite a bit of hardware in to this thing, and developers will push that to its limits, and hopefully some good gaming options start showing up on the TV app store.

Who knows what kind of games will come out for the Apple TV?

Traded my old iphone and my wife's old iphone at Best Buy and got new ipad mini covers and a Playstation Vita.  Boy I have to take back every negative comment I made about the Vita.  I'm even posting on this board using the Vita's touch screen keyboard and web browser.  If you are stuck in a game, you can press the home button and tap on the web browser icon on any game's home page and it will take you to a list of FAQs like you would see on Google or any other web search site.

Next will be a PS4 and I can play my PS4 on the go with my Vita.  People will forget how cool Sony is sometimes.

Anyone thinking about getting new game systems or games during Christmas/the Holidays?  Computer parts?

My GPU is still holding up and playing games that I want to buy on the PC but games such as Need For Speed, Doom (reboot), Street Fighter V, and others might force me to upgrade that GPU and my CPU.  I'm very appreciative of Japanese companies such as Capcom, Namco, Square Enix, and others that has been releasing JRPGs, fighting games, and HD remakes of popular games already coming out and saying that they will continue to support the 360 & PS3 which means I can take my sweet time upgrading my PC.  Some of them exaggerate the minimum PC specs especially Square Enix for Dragon Quest Heros which says you need a first gen i7 CPU whereas the i3 or i5 would get it done.

A Radeon R7 370 costs about $150-$175 and boasts similar memory bandwidth rates to the PS4's GDDR5 ram which is 176GB/s.  Given that the PC games would be working with the weaker XB1, I'd say that GPU would take care of things even with my dual core GPU.

Hyperthreading seems to not make much of a difference so you don't have to blow your $$$ on an i3 or i7 which has HT.

Still glad I made the decision to switch to PC gaming but boy my 1TB HDD has just about 300GB free right now.  :o

Remember the Neo-Geo? I paid $10.00 for those games plus more to be revealed later. And they are for the PC for the first time. It says DRM-free as well.

This is why I love the PC as a gaming platform.

Update: http://www.engadget.com/2015/12/08/humble-bundle-snk-neo-geo-games-browser/

You are playing 19 games in a web browser and you can do this on the PC, Mac, and Linux.

Wonderful news for people who would want to build arcade cabinets.  You won't need a Windows OS to run this game.  I'm thinking about building an arcade cabient just for this game and maybe other games as well.  That would be a fun project.

http://www.thebitbag.com/amd-raven-ridge-apu-much-powerful-ps4-graphics-engine/219991

I'm defintely getting one of those new AMD APUs in this case (most likely the HBM version instead of the DDR4 version).  This article also talks about the Grey Hawk APU which has a GPU that has 4,096 shader cores which is more than the PS4's 1,152 (Pro has double but same bandwidth speed) shader cores.  This very well could be a hint of how powerful the XBox Scorpio is going to be.  The weaker Raven Ridge APU with the DDR4 version will have 768 shader cores which is the same as the XBox 1's 768 shader cores.  If anyone goes with an AMD APU, I'd insist on at least 16 GB of RAM since there are PC games that require at least 8 GB of RAM in order to run and the iGPU would need some of that space too.

I know that this is a somewhat dated reference im about to make, but I still remember the PS2 vs Xbox war that took place between about 2000-2005.

Xbox won that war in my opinion, but I still had fun playing Socom Navy Seals on PS2 when I was kid. Online multiplayer with other kids around the country/world was really fun.
