utenation
Glad to see that there are some Viking fans that are showing their disapproval: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24711321/vikings-message-board-shuts-down-calls-teams-handling-of-peterson-cowardly Nice to see fans take a stand. Amazed at the people like Barkley saying "this is acceptable in the South".. Uneducated is not an excuse.
All Hail
Nice to see fans take a stand. Amazed at the people like Barkey saying "this is acceptable in the South".. Uneducated is not an excuse. As if, "this is acceptable in the South" is a good cultural barometer for anything. It's not as if the South has been on the front lines of social progress. All Hail
Dear AP, this is how it's done. There's NOTHING that motivates a kid more than the thought of being embarrassed publicly. I remember when I was a kid I would prefer a public whooping to a public shaming any day. http://blog.sfgate.com/sfmoms/2014/09/16/father-shames-son-forces-him-to-hold-i-hit-little-girls-sign/#4795101=0 Since he doesn't have a relationship with any of these women, he doesn't have to worry about divorce. RogueDuck
If we let the south decide what's accepted and not, Barkley wouldn't be on tv right now.
PAC MAN
Since he doesn't have a relationship with any of these women, he doesn't have to worry about divorce. AD still should pay for child support in that case and he should do that. We'll see if he skips out on those.

I think this sums up Adrian Peterson's life very well.. "I have always believed that the way my parents disciplined me has a great deal to do with the success I have enjoyed as a man," Peterson said in a statement released Monday. Phyllis Peterson, former wife of Nelson Peterson, also says Adrian Peterson learned how to mete out whippings from his father, who in 1999 — when Adrian was in high school — pleaded guilty to laundering money from the distribution of cocaine and served time in prison. Stay Classy Peterson. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/vikings/2014/09/15/adrian-peterson-minnesota-vikings-child-abuse-whippings-indictment-son/15696169/

As someone who comes from that west south central region, I'm not surprised by those kind of numbers from that part of the country. Of those four facts, I thought the percentage would be lower for people supporting spanking. The last three didn't surprise me at all. It seems to me that those graphs are also representative of a region being more liberal or conservative.

Orange
Typical reactionary shit from the NFL, way too late. They need the public to tell them whether beating the shit out of a child is bad or not. Ugh. Why do I continue to watch?
mysfit
Human nature? To want to stop violence, especially against women and children while watching a sport which results in scores of men facing a retirement with broken bodies and minds. That's just an observation not a criticism.
Orange
At least now he is on suspension and will not play Sunday. Correct me if I am wrong didn't he have a kid that died last year? Yes, beat to death by the mother's boyfriend. Class people, all the way around.

SteveLAztec
Man, what a topic this is...And is there really a good answer to the NFL's problems? I'm not sure. Is Adrian Peterson a scum bag for what he did? I think so. Should he be banned from the NFL? I think no. Is what Adrian Peterson did worse than what some other NFL players have done and still be allowed to play? No way. It seems to me that the NFL is crossing a line into peoples personal life that they should not be in. JMO
