https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/4ag8qj/im-terrified-wells-fargo-demands-call-center-employees-come-into-work

multiple California counties issued shelter-in-place orders and directed all non-essential employees to stay at home. That same day, the San Francisco bank’s head of consumer lending, Mary Mack, told employees in her division, in an email obtained by VICE, that the “branch, contact center, and operations center employees are considered ‘essential’ and exempt from the counties’ orders.”

...

“They refuse to let anyone work from home in our department,” said one call-center employee in Wells Fargo’s downtown Des Moines offices. “I have about 250 people on my floor. I'm terrified that I am going to get COVID-19 because of their greed.”

Old people have caretakers, need prescriptions/food, they need people fixing their sinks and/or delivering goods and maintaining their homes and automobiles.

This is bullshit. You have a very narrow view of "the elderly." I'm 62, I'm high risk. I repaired my Samsung digital dryer last weekend, with no help from anyone (except the YouTube guy I found.)

I have to agree with Don here. He was simply asking a discussion point question, which was reasonable. Beav didn't need to go off with a tirade of expletives denigrating the guy. Fuckin' A man, take it easy. Stop with the blame game, otherwise you're going to land on CHINA, just like Trump has.

Oh that’s right, because it’s reasonable to assume that the only people I meant by “old people“ are 62-year-olds in good health who are strong enough to handle everything themselves. Luckily, senior citizens in nursing homes who are 85 years old and older don’t exist.  🙄

Dawn asked a fucking stupid question that betrayed ignorance on issues that have been well covered by the media for the past month.  It’s not possible to fight a virus that affects all of us simply by protecting only about 15% of us. It’s a stupid fucking question and I don’t care what the fuck you say.

admit it, you’re just taking personal offense to the “OK boomer“ statements but actually have nothing to do with you since you are one of the few boomers with some common sense.  And he’s the one who started the expletive tirade, not me.

Went up to 75 today even at 5 pm (hottest part of the day is in the late afternoons for Denver) and went on a long and nice walk.  I knew the governor of CO would have a presser and then I see this:

What a nice day today was.  The light is at the end of the tunnel.

Maybe we can see a light, but that’s only because we’re in the darkest part of the tunnel. The country won’t be “open” by April 30th. That’s a pipe dream they feed us because two weeks at a time is better to hear than being told “you can’t come out until July.”

They say this, largely I’d guess, for the markets.   They rebounded when New York saw its first decline in new cases.  Pretty low bar, but that is where we are right now.

The problem with giving the markets a false date is that when you miss it, they tank.

I don’t disagree.

That said, the markets are reacting to all news, and the truth is no one knows what the date really is.  If we are looking at 3 months or 18.

They are going to tank more, there is plenty of bad news to come.

Two weeks is one paycheck away. Most people can deal and think in that timeframe because it is their mindset- paycheck to paycheck. July is months away and they would freak out.

Airports do the same shit. It's always a 30 minute delay. They're just indefinite because they know people can handle 30 minutes at a time.
