NAU travels to Northern Colorado this week. If UNC wins, maybe they'll cancel the UA-CU game since CU already beat UNC 35-7. At least CU basketball practice begins in 10 days...same for UA basketball?

MrBug708
We lost for one major reason, we couldnt run the ball. It wasn’t DTRs fault, he didn’t play well and he’s clearly never going to get to the stage of development that elite QBs achieve, but he made plays when we needed them. Yes the cushion by the DBs was a problem but we still could have overcome it. Cota (who is absolutely useless) had a fumble and it was big, but not fatal. A litany of other issues, which were bad but not insurmountable. But we lost because we couldn’t run the ball against a stacked box, our center was absolute dog$h!t in diagnosing and getting to his blocks, and the staff never adjusted off the stupid bunch and attached TE personnel. I’ve said before that Chip doesn’t use TE personnel packages well. Dulcich will not block, period, so the way Chip needed to counter the 8/9 many boxes was by using Dulcich as a WR, in an extended slot, using 3x1 formations, pushing the receivers out to the numbers, and forcing FSU to spread out. That would have opened lanes for Zach and Britain, and it would have made life easier for 64 inside against their 1-gap DL scheme. But we decided to stay in bunch all night, play them in a phone booth, and let them shut down the run game. We probably made this decision because it allowed for the deep ball and big play to be there a lot. But those are quick strikes and even though we hit some, as the game wore on it was evident we needed to hold onto the ball on offense and put sustained drives together and give the D a rest, not score in 3 minute or less, 6 play drives. In other words we played into their game plan by scoring quickly. If we run the ball, control the clock, we out-physical them and in the end win the game handily. DeBoer is really good. Give him and their staff a lot of credit.

We talking history of any iteration of Pac-10? @Quack 12 might need to give us a primer on the Toilet Bowl. 0-0 tie in the rain, but I was too busy on swing sets and teeter-totters in 1983. Otherwise, any, single Beaver game from 1990 - 1996 will suffice.

For God's sake, get the guy some pine tar or stickum.

The Toilet Bowl had teams that combined for 6 wins and 4 PAC wins and neither team could claim worst team in the conference (Stanford, who both Toilet bowl teams beat by more than 1 score). The Crapple Cup had two teams that managed only 1 win (vs Portland St).
