Coaching Changes

This is no way to run a sport. I personally don’t feel good about stealing Fisch from UA because I know what a gut punch it is. I have no issue with UA and wish we could have taken a coach from a non-Pac12 school.

Having said that, Fisch was my first choice. I think he is on the way up and can do some big things.

At this point we need to just tear the fucking bandaid off and make it a true minor league with salaried players and salary caps and regulations around movement, etc. Nobody wants that but the longer we put it off the more inequitable it becomes. Oh well, sportsball is dumb regardless.

So, in the job market - in any industry - companies need to refrain from hiring talent from other companies and organizations, in order to improve their own company - and that's "not" the way to run a business (college sports is a business); am I understanding you correctly?

Furthermore, Arizona is not a "destination" school, for CFB, and most likely never will be.  Most schools are not destination jobs.

Regardless of who the coach at Arizona is, that coach will ultimately leave to take on another job that is more in line with being a "destination school (job)" (or at least the next step up on the ladder of ascension towards a destination school.

What is baffling to me is that neither Arizona or ASU produce annually strong contenders for most sports, while they exist in a state with an abundance of talent, and they neighbor other states where talent is plentiful.  Given that both schools are located in climate-friendly cities, it would seem that they could accumulate plenty of talent, and be a force is all sports.

The sad part for the Huskies is that Fisch will be just as quick to leave Seattle as he was with Tucson.

I was hoping to be able to say that his buyout was too large for that to happen, like $25M+.  But the numbers are pretty standard: $12M first year, $10M second year, $6M, $5M, $3 and $1M. Those buyout numbers won't dissuade Florida or other top 20 program that wants him. So, UW will probably need to negotiate contract extensions with increases to the buyout if things go well.

Yeah, as a Niner fan, I’ve seen this movie and it got horrible reviews.

Some dudes just aren’t meant for the NFL.  Chip was nearly fired last year. Maybe he should focus on cleaning his own house first before he goes and shits on another carpet. Seattle would be the dumbest team on the planet with this move.

Dan Quinn’s stock isn’t exactly hot sauce either these days,
