UCLA won the second half pretty easily. The defense was inconsistent for much of the game. It will take awhile. Conceptually it seems easy; as a practical matter it is difficult.

Again, the returning players developed very poor habits under ****** Alford in this regard; and the acclimation from high school to Division I basketball is enormous for the freshmen.

It’s very early but The conference as a whole has been pretty solid.  Utah beat Nevada on the road and was favored to lose by 6.  Cal already has two upsets under their belts.  Oregon state played Oklahoma very well.  Arizona looks legitimately good again as does Oregon.  Washington upset Baylor.  The only bad loss the conference has is wazzu at Santa Clara.  Not bad for a conference who has been a massive disappointment over the past several years.

Hmmmm. Utah is now 3-0 with wins over Nevada on the road and Minny at home. Certainly doing better than  I gave them credit for.

A lot of turnovers in the second half but a good win. Nerve racking though.  We were picked 9th in the P12 with so many younglings and unknowns.

Gach and Allen look good.
